Bob Dylan actions ‘not inconsistent’ with alleged sex abuse, states lawyer for accuser | Bob Dylan

A lawyer for the woman who has accused Bob Dylan of sexually abusing her in 1965 when she was 12 decades outdated has challenged statements by Dylan’s biographer that the singer-songwriter was not in New York at the time of the alleged abuse.

Dylan, 80, is accused by an anonymised girl, JC, of creating “an emotional connection” with her to “lower her inhibitions with the item of sexually abusing her, which he did, coupled with the provision of medications, liquor and threats of actual physical violence, leaving her emotionally scarred and psychologically destroyed to this day”.

In a lawsuit submitted before this 7 days, she is trying to get unspecified damages and a jury demo for allegations of assault, battery, phony imprisonment and infliction of emotional distress.

Dylan has denied the allegations, with a spokesperson indicating “the 56-calendar year-old claim is untrue and will be vigorously defended”.

JC dates the alleged abuse to a 6-7 days period of time about April and Could 1965, at the Chelsea lodge in New York Town wherever Dylan held an apartment. In the wake of her lawsuit becoming filed, Dylan’s biographer Clinton Heylin – who has created quite a few textbooks about the singer which include the new The Double Daily life of Bob Dylan Vol I, 1941–1966: A Restless, Hungry Sensation, which addresses the period of time in issue – voiced doubt above her promises, as did other individuals on line.

Heylin advised HuffPost:

It is not attainable. Dylan was touring England during that time, and was in Los Angeles for two of those people weeks, furthermore a working day or two at Woodstock. The tour was 10 times, but Bob flew into London on 26 April and arrived back again in New York on 3 June. If Dylan was in New York in mid-April, it was for no much more than a day or two. Woodstock was in which he put in most of his time when not touring. And if he was in NYC, he invariably stayed at his manager’s condominium in Gramercy, not the Chelsea.

JC’s law firm, Daniel Isaacs, has now responded to Heylin’s claims. “Looking at the [tour] plan – it’s not inconsistent with our client’s claims,” he advised Web page 6. “There are dates that he was not touring for many months in April and this will all appear out at that suitable time. The claims were vetted right before the situation was submitted and we did our analysis. It’s our position that the evidence will build that he was in New York all through the suitable time time period.”

The allegations threaten to poorly stain the name of a singer regarded by a lot of as the foremost American songwriter of the 20th century. He is the only songwriter to have been awarded the Nobel prize for literature, and carries on to launch effectively-regarded new work, like 2020 album Rough and Rowdy Means.

In 2020, he bought his full catalogue of tracks to Universal Audio Team in an undisclosed offer thought to be well worth more than $300m. In July, a decide dominated in his favour immediately after a claim was introduced against him by the estate of Jacques Levy, his collaborator on the album Desire.
